Who We Serve

The Compassionate Corner serves adults age 18 and over with developmental disabilities, physical limitations, traumatic brain injuries, and mental illness. Whether a participant needs help building daily living skills, connecting with others, or simply finding a welcoming place to spend the day, our team is ready to provide care tailored to their needs.

Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Support

Daily living tasks can be a barrier to independence - and we're here to help. Our select caregiving staff are equipped to handle all ADL (Activities of Daily Living) needs with direct attention to inclusivity, empowerment, and community. We assist with all ADLs, including personal care assistance and medication administration, so participants can focus on growing, learning, and enjoying their day.

Personal Training & Daily Skill Development

We believe every participant has the potential to grow. That's why we concentrate on personal training exercises designed to improve daily skills and build greater independence. We aspire to enhance each participant's capabilities by involving them in exciting, educational experiences that help them achieve realistic and attainable goals - one step at a time.

Group Activities & Socialization

Connection matters. We engage participants in group activities that increase socialization and build friendships. Our goal is to maintain a safe and inviting atmosphere where participants can socialize, engage in group projects, explore new activities, and participate in community outings - all in an environment where they feel valued and included.

Recreational Opportunities & Community Outings

Life is meant to be enjoyed. We provide recreational opportunities and space for individuals to explore new activities, try new things, and take part in community outings that broaden their world and create memorable experiences.

Program Hours & Flexible Scheduling

We provide services Monday through Friday, with drop-off scheduled from 8:00am to 8:30am and pick-up scheduled from 3:00pm to 3:30pm. Participants set their weekly schedule upon intake and can make changes as their needs evolve, giving families the flexibility to plan around work, appointments, and life.

Qualified, Certified Care Staff

Our team is the heart of what we do. Our qualified care staff are trained in each client group and tailor care to each individual's specific needs. Every member of our care team is trained through the State of Wisconsin Caregiver Registry for CBRF Certification to ensure the highest quality of care, and each receives a minimum of ten hours of continuing education yearly - plus specific training on every new participant and their servicing needs.

Individualized Service Planning

Every participant is unique, and so is every plan. To ensure participants establish and reach new goals, The Compassionate Corner holds individualized meetings with participants and their care teams to update and improve their individualized service plans twice yearly. Care staff document updates weekly in each participant's record and actively encourage growth toward those goals.

Vocational Support

For participants working toward community employment, we provide space and support to meet with vocational specialists they may already be working with. It's one more way we help participants build skills, confidence, and meaningful roles in the broader community.
